Preview: Kids Like Us & Turquoise Jeep

Last night my friends of the local hip-hop group Kids Like Us opened up for Turquoise Jeep at the Triple Rock Social Club, downtown Minneapolis. Having easily become one of my favorite things to do, photographing these concerts helps me gain more photographic experience, but more importantly, has introduced me to the incredible talents of the Minneapolis hip-hop community. If you're looking for some hip-hop musical Therapy check em out. Great job last night guys.

Kids Like Us & G-Eazy concert @ First Ave.

Last weekend I got the opportunity to take pictures for my friends' local group Kids Like Us opening up for G-Eazy, a hip-hop artist from California, at First Ave. and 7th St. Entry. It was an awesome show, and Kids Like Us killed it. Check them out here: http://kidslikeus.bandcamp.com/ and follow them on twitter here: https://twitter.com/DamnKidsLikeUs. They have raw talent and passion for their music, and it was a pleasure to cover their concert. Hope you like what you see, and if you do, give em a listen, these guys are going places.

National Scholastic Art Competition

This year I entered four photographs into the Scholastic Art Competition. Last month I was honored to receive a Gold Key award for one of my photographs, and two Honorable Mentions. Out of  nearly 2,000 entries, only 183 were awarded Gold Keys. My works are being displayed in the College of Visual Arts gallery in St.Paul until March 3rd! Stop by to check out my photograph and the other Gold Key winners. My piece will now move on to judging in New York City for a chance to be nationally recognized in Carnegie Hall.

The image on the right won the Gold Key, while the images on the left won honorable mention. Thanks everyone for the support!
